My music taste is all over the place. If you go through my “College Jams” playlist, you’ll find rap, country, punk, pop, literally a little of everything. I provided a picture of my recently played artists to prove how mixed my music taste is.

This article will be about my favorite artists and what I listen to the most. My favorite genres are country and pop punk.

1)Bea Miller

Bea has been my favorite singer for a long time since discovering her in my underclassman days of high school. The first song I ever heard from her was “Rich Kids” from her “Not an Apology” album. Her career sparked when she was a contestant on X Factor in 2012 and released her first album in 2015. She is from the pop/pop rock genre and has many different styles when it comes to singing-seriously, none of her songs sound the same.

2)All Time Low

All Time Low has influenced my life in several ways. I would say I discovered them in 8th grade during the early days of my emo phase. I quickly fell in love with them and have seen them live four times-technically five if you count their quarantine concert (I did pay to view the livestream, so I count it). They are a pop punk band who are not afraid to be themselves. They released their first full album in 2006 and are still releasing new music in 2020.

3)WALK THE MOON

Let me have my hipster moment here and say that I liked WTM before their hit song “Shutup and Dance” became popular back in 2015. I enjoyed the song since 2014 and would constantly listen to it and then boom, everyone knew who they were. I have seen them once in concert and it was a GREAT show. My dad and I were blown away at how amazing they were live. This rock band is one of my favorite bands and will continue to be for a long time.

4)Luke Bryan

Everyone who knows me in real life knows I absolutely love Luke Bryan. Even before I got heavily into country music, I enjoyed listening to him. I love how he can sing about serious topics that can get someone in their feelings while I also singing songs that are about nothing else besides getting drunk. He is another singer that I have seen live and between him and his three openers, I would consider it one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

5)The Summer Set

The fifth spot was a tough one since I listen to so many different bands/singers. I looked up my top artists on Spotify on Google and this band came out as my third. I like to call The Summer Set my secret favorite band because I don’t talk about them often. Unfortunately, they do not exist anymore as they are on a “hiatus” (praying they actually return one day). Though the vocalist isn’t the greatest, I genuinely love listening to their music. They’re fun and know how to get people dancing. They sing my all-time favorite song “Figure Me Out” because I relate a lot to the lyrics and it means a lot to me.
