Jacob Moore, 20, has a brilliant working mind when it comes to fixing up vehicles. From oil changes to paint jobs, he can do it at all. Starting at just five years old, he was able to do oil changes and brakes on his dad’s truck. By eight or nine, his extended family was already paying him for his hard work. Now, he spends his entire day working on anything he can put his hands on.

Dreamereamer blog: What was the first car you ever worked on?

Moore: First car I ever worked on was a 1998 Chevy K1500.

Q: What was your hardest project?

A: My hardest project has probably been the red corvette because it took so long (4 years) for me to save up to get it roadworthy again.

Q: How about your easiest project?

A: The easiest project has been my ’79 C10 that I bought for my brother, very reliable so far, and hasn’t needed anything under the hood.

Q: Your favorite project?

A: My white truck is definitely my favorite project, it’s so fun to drive, reliable, and it gets me where I need to go. Life is too short to drive boring cars.

Q: If you could own any car/truck in the world, what would you choose?

A: Aside from the cars I have (dream car since I was little was a 1978 Chevy K10), I’d have to say my top car I want to own is a ’65 Chevy Impala 327 4 speed car.

Q: I know you’re into classic square bodies, why did you choose those trucks over the newer, modern kinds?

A: My dad had one when I was really little, my earliest memory is standing next to it and wanting to get in to pretend to drive, ever since then I’ve been hooked. I’ve always preferred the earlier styling though (’73-’80) as opposed to the updated look (’81-’91).

Q: Do you prefer fixing things up by yourself or with company?

A: It all depends on what I’m doing, usually I like working by myself or with one or two other people, with big groups nothing ever gets done

Q: how do your parents handle having all the parts everywhere & always having something to work on?

A: It started off kind of iffy frankly they’ve gotten used to it. In the next few months, I’m going to start renting a shop, so they won’t have to deal with it.

Thanks for reading and thank you, Jacob, for answering my questions,

Elisa Reamer
